CHARLES E. GOODMAN III Photographer
Artist Statement
For my body of work, I aim to please not only myself, but to the viewers I share my work with. I want to provide a visual stimuli for the viewers to immerse themselves in an imaginative world. Over the years, I discovered that photography can be a helpful medium to communicate what I have envisioned in my mind. I generally find it difficult to explain in great detail the concept I am going for. At a young age, I was diagnosed with a disability. I had communication problems and I had trouble responding back to individuals in a way that can communicate what I was thinking. Every day, I am looking around me, seeing the beauty that is worth capturing to explain what I am visually seeing and feeling. Sometimes, I capture the beauty that will happen in just a moment. Other times, I try to create a fantasy that I have been dreaming of for some time.
I have studied photography at Southwestern College in Chula Vista, CA for a couple of years. I am constantly taking pictures of visually interesting spaces, especially if it's colorful; be it still-life, landscapes, or individuals. I am a bit directionless, but always moving forward, looking for the next best thing.
